Haworthia is a family of dwarf succulents endemic to Southern Africa. Recent research has resulted in the genus Haworthia being divided into Haworthia, Haworthiopsis and Tulista. These extremely popular plants have been used extensively in hybridising programmes and many hybrids have been created across the globe. Their ease of culture and need for minimal care has attributed to their world-wide popularity. Small, cluster forming succulents with rosettes of fleshy leaves. Their leaves are highly varied in shape, colour and markings. Tall, wiry stems bear whitish, tubular flowers. The flowers always begin opening at the base of the flower spike. They are the perfect choice for beginner succulent collectors as well as for plant lovers with limited space. Many varieties also grow very well indoors.
