Aeonium are wonderfully sculptural plants with rosettes of glossy leaves at the tips of their branches. There are just over 30 species and most of them occur on the Canary Islands. They create striking focal points either in a container, mixed succulent arrangement or rockery. They will also grow well on a sunny window sill indoors. They are easy to grow and adapt well to different growing conditions. Aeonium differ from many other plants in that they actively grow during the autumn and winter months and have a dormant period in the hot summer months.
