Common name: Reed stem Epidendrum – Yellow
- A terrestrial orchid with tall reed-like stems growing up to 80 cm high
- Clusters of dainty flowers are borne on tall flower spikes
- Extremely rewarding as this orchid continues to flower for many months and provides a splash of colour to the garden particularly in winter
- They produce new plantlets on their reed stems. Once they have developed roots they can easily be removed and potted to grow on.

Plant Care:
Tips on how to care for your plant successfully:
Light: Best in full sun to partial shade.
Soil: They require a light and airy, free draining soil. The addition of compost or fine pine bark to the planting area is recommended.
Potting: Use a good quality bark based potting soil.
Watering: Water your plant thoroughly and wait for your plant to start drying out before watering again. Never leave your plant standing in water for any length of time. Always pour off the excess water which has collected in the drip tray after watering.
Temperature: Best grown in minimum winter temperatures of above 5 degrees Celsius.
Fertiliser: Apply a balanced water soluble fertiliser at ¼ – ½ of the recommended strength once a month in spring and summer.
